Its main constituents are oleic acid (approximately 80%), followed by linolenic acid (about 15-20%), and other accompanying fats, with α-tocopherol (vitamin E) as the predominant ingredient. The abundance of oleic acid in sweet almond oil can help to make the skin smooth and delicate, making it particularly suitable for dry skin.

  Almonds have an oil yield of approximately 45.8%, which is three times that of soybeans, making it an important raw material in oleochemical production. Sweet almond oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and is a high-quality edible oil. Given its low freezing point, it is also a high-grade lubricating oil and is vital for the manufacturing of premium soaps, cosmetics, paints, and coatings.

  The cold-pressing process is typically used to extract almond oil, utilizing hydraulic oil presses to ensure its high quality. The temperature of the pressing shaft continually rises during cold-pressing, requiring temperature control methods to maintain consistency throughout the pressing process. However, the high oil residue in the oil cake can impact the oil yield, thus making the use of crushed almonds a preferred option for oil extraction using a hydraulic oil press.
