Soybean Oil Filter

  Soybean oil is typically processed by pressing and other methods to extract crude oil, which needs to be refined to obtain edible oil. Soybeans contain 15%-26% oil, and the oil yield ranges from 12%-18% depending on the quality of the soybeans.

  There are two main types of pressing methods: ordinary pressing and screw pressing. Ordinary pressing involves directly pressing soybeans to extract oil. This method is not widely used, especially in large-scale industrial production. Screw pressing, on the other hand, involves installing a screw shaft in the cylinder of a horizontal device. After the pretreated soybeans enter the screw press, oil gets squeezed out as the soybeans advance. This method is suitable for continuous production, but the protein content can change significantly due to friction and heat during the oil extraction process.

  Filtration is a crucial process in soybean oil pressing, as it removes solid impurities from the oil. When selecting a filter, the plate and frame filter is often preferred because of its relatively simple structure, easy operation, stable performance, and low maintenance requirements. It also has a flexible range of filter area selection and occupies less space, making it suitable for filtering various crude oils.
