The safety of edible oil depends on "refining"
There are generally two methods for producing edible vegetable oils: pressing and leaching. Pressing is a method of extracting oil from oilseeds by mechanical pressing. It originated from the oil making method of traditional workshops. Today, pressing is a large-scale, industrialized operation, but the basic principle has not changed. Leaching is a method of extracting oil from oilseeds using the extraction principle in food engineering and internationally recognized and common food-grade solvents. This extraction is essentially a physical dissolution operation process, and no chemical reaction between oil and solvent occurs during the extraction process. From the development history of edible oil production technology in the world, the leaching oil production process is currently recognized internationally. Most vegetable oils are now produced by leaching.
However, whether it is produced by leaching or pressing, it is called "crude oil" before it is refined. my country's national standard for edible oils stipulates that "crude oil" must be refined to remove harmful components and certain "impurities" and become a finished oil that meets national standards before it can be eaten. Simply put, whether it is pressing or leaching, it only solves the problem of producing "crude oil", which is not edible at the beginning. To turn "crude oil" into finished oil, it must go through a refining process.
Therefore, whether edible oil is safe does not depend on whether the previous production process is pressing or leaching, but is determined by the subsequent refining process.
The purpose of edible oil refining equipment is to refine oil, usually refers to the refining of crude oil. The presence of impurities in crude oil not only affects the edible value and safe storage of oil, but also brings difficulties to deep processing. However, the purpose of refining is not to remove all impurities in the oil, but to remove impurities that are harmful to edible, storage, industrial production, etc., such as cottonpol, protein, phospholipids, mucus, moisture, etc., while beneficial "impurities" such as tocopherol should be retained. Therefore, according to different requirements and uses, the purpose of oil refining is to remove unnecessary and harmful impurities from oil and obtain finished oil that meets certain quality standards. The methods of oil refining can be roughly divided into three types according to the operating characteristics and the selected raw materials: mechanical method, chemical method and physical and chemical method.
Process flow of edible oil refining equipment:
Crude oil--degumming (water washing)--deacidification (alkali refining)--decolorization (white clay adsorption)--deodorization (vacuum distillation)--finished oil
