Palm kernel oil pressing process
In the palm fruit, besides the pulp, the palm kernel also contains oil. The palm kernel contains about 50% oil, which can be extracted by means of pressing. The following is the palm kernel oil pressing process:
Step 1: Separation of palm fiber and kernel
If your raw material is a mixture of palm fiber and kernel, then before palm kernel pressing, we need to separate palm fiber and palm kernel with fiber and kernel separating equipment, which will help the subsequent palm kernel oil pressing process go smoothly and prevent clogging of the press during the pressing process;
Step 2: Shelling& Kernel Separation
We can get clean palm kernel through the treatment of palm fiber and kernel separation equipment. Since the kernel is hard and cannot be pressed directly, After the initial separation of palm fiber and kernel, it is conveyed to the mud bath separation system for further separation, and the final kernel shell separation rate can reach 97-98%. The separated palm kernel needs to be dried in the sun or in a dryer before entering the crusher.
Step 3: Crushing
Usually, we need to crush the whole kernel into small pieces, which can help to increase the surface area of palm kernel and improve the efficiency of palm kernel oil pressing.
Step 4: Rosating
In small scale palm kernel oil production process, we usually equip a roaster to roasting the palm kernel after pressing. The purpose of roasting is to bring the palm kernel to a good condition before pressing.
Step 5: Pressing
Pressing is an important step in the palm kernel oil production process, the processed material is conveyed to the hopper of palm kernel oil press, then the palm kernel oil press will extract the oil from the palm kernel with the help of mechanical extrusion.
Step 6: Filtering
After the last pressing stage, we can get palm kernel oil, but getting palm kernel oil doesn't mean the end of palm kernel oil pressing process, we still need to use plate filter to filter the impurities in the palm kernel oil until we get palm kernel crude oil.
