Copra conveying: Copra material is in a block-shaped solid form, and it is not suitable for conveying with a lifting machine. Due to the small scraper conveyor imported, the feeding is not smooth. Therefore, a belt conveyor is used, and its inclination angle should not exceed 30 degrees, otherwise material dropping may occur.
Grinding: Coconut meat is a hard block-like solid obtained after drying coconut meat. Therefore, it is necessary to address the issue of coconut meat grinding, and a coconut meat grinder must be installed.
Steaming and stir-frying: Uniform heating is employed to enhance the oil yield of copra. However, the stirring action of the steaming and stir-frying equipment causes copra to easily spill out of the wok, drip oil along the main shaft, and cause environmental pollution and workshop waste. Additionally, the materials are prone to caking and transportation difficulties. To address this, it is necessary to reduce the comminution degree of the material, shorten the stirring time, and regularly clean the discharge port of the steaming and stir-frying equipment and the elevator to prevent material accumulation.
Oil pressing: Because the properties of dried copra and ordinary oil are different, issues such as difficulty in feeding, cake formation, and lack of oil in the press cage's oil outlet may occur. Therefore, it's necessary to adjust the clearance between the tire and the ring. Strips of desiccated coconut material should have very small gaps between them while being extruded. After improving the steaming and frying conditions of the material, the feeding would become normal, and the oil would mainly come out in the second and third stages. It's worth noting that when starting the feeding, before the temperature in the press chamber increases, the flow rate of material entering the press chamber should not be excessive. Otherwise, a thin paste can form at the feeding point, resulting in low cake yield or even sintering.
Oil clarification and filtration: Due to the presence of a large amount of fibrous material in the coconut kernel, the crude oil often contains a significant amount of impurities. Thus, a filter is necessary to separate out the solid impurities.
