Flaxseed is the seed of the annual or perennial herbaceous plant flax, which can be pressed for oil. It is one of the top ten oil crops in the world, and its output ranks seventh. Flax is divided into oil flax, oil and fiber flax and fiber flax. Flax for oil has been cultivated in China for more than 600 years. It is mainly produced in the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia, northern Shanxi, Huining, Gansu and other regions. The flax oil here is also called flax oil locally, mainly because it was invented by Zhang Qian of the Han Dynasty in ancient times. introduced into our country. Flax is mainly distributed in temperate zones, and the oil content of flax seeds is generally 40 to 60%. What is significantly different from other edible oils is that the main fatty acid in flax oil is linolenic acid, with a content of about 50%. The temperature of the area where flax grows has a greater impact on the fatty acid composition of flaxseed. Flax oil in cold areas generally has a higher degree of unsaturation, while flax oil produced in warm areas has a lower degree of unsaturation. Flaxseed oil is rich in alpha-linolenic acid and is a great way to supplement linolenic acid.
The oil obtained by pressing flaxseed at room temperature is a yellow liquid with a specific smell. The texture gradually becomes thicker and the color gradually becomes darker in the air. Flax oil contains a lot of linolenic acid and has an unpleasant smell. It produces an "aftertaste" soon after refining. Therefore, flax oil is mainly used in industry, but it is also used as edible oil in some areas of Eastern Europe. Hydrogenation can reduce or eliminate the unpleasant smell of linseed oil. Linseed oil is easily oxidized, difficult to preserve, and requires relatively high storage conditions.

1.Hydration degumming
The colloidal impurities in crude oil are mainly phosphorus. The presence of colloids such as phospholipids not only reduces the quality of oil, but also promotes transitional emulsification between oil and alkali in the alkali refining deacidification process, increasing the difficulty of separating saponins and aggravating the loss of neutral oil. Therefore it should be removed first.
2.Deacidification
Oil deacidification mainly removes free fatty acids in crude oil, as well as a small amount of colloids, pigments and trace metal substances in the oil. Deacidification operation is one of the important factors that directly affects the oil yield and quality of oil refining. The most widely used method in industrial production is the alkali refining deacidification method.
3.Decolorization
The color of the oil and some other impurities must be decolorized to meet product quality standards. At the same time, it provides more favorable conditions for deodorization and refining. Decolorization must meet the final color requirements of the product; remove relevant pigments and quantitative metals; further remove trace amounts of saponins, phospholipids and other colloidal impurities and certain odor substances remaining in the oil; remove polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and residual pesticides; reduce oil quality Oxidation value.
4.Deodorization
The purpose of oil deodorization is to remove odor-causing substances and other easily volatile substances in the oil, improve the odor and color of the oil, and improve the stability of the oil. The unique smell of oil, the odor produced during decolorization, the clam odor caused by the oxidation of oil, etc. In the deodorization stage, these undesirable odors are required to be directly sprayed into steam at high vacuum and distilled to remove them.
